Write Markdown on the left and see the rendered result on the right as you type, then copy either the Markdown or the generated HTML. It supports headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, fenced code blocks, ordered and unordered lists, links, images, blockquotes and horizontal rules.
It is a compact renderer, not a full CommonMark or GitHub-flavored implementation. Tables, for example, are not rendered.
How to use it
- Type or paste Markdown into the editor; press Reset Sample to start from the example.
- Read the live preview beside it.
- Press Copy MD for the Markdown or Copy HTML for the generated markup.
Worked example
Copy HTML gives you the generated markup with styling classes.
Input
# Title
**bold** and *italic* with a [link](https://example.com)
Result
A heading, then a paragraph containing <strong>bold</strong>, <em>italic</em> and an <a> link that opens in a new tab.
Common mistakes and gotchas
- A table written with pipes (| a | b |) is shown as plain text lines, because tables are not supported by this renderer.
- A single # heading is output as an <h2> in the preview so that the page keeps one top-level heading; the same applies one level down for the others.
- Images are loaded by your browser from the address in the Markdown, so the server hosting an image can see your IP address. Everything else about the text stays on your device.
- Links with unsafe schemes such as javascript: or data: are neutralised; only http, https, mailto, tel and relative links are kept.
Frequently asked questions
Does the preview send my Markdown anywhere?
No. The text is compiled in your browser. The one exception is remote images: if your Markdown includes an image URL, your browser requests that image from its host.
Can I use raw HTML in the Markdown?
Raw HTML is escaped and shown as text rather than rendered, to keep the preview safe.
How do I add a code block?
Fence it with three backticks before and after; an optional language name after the opening fence is accepted.
